American Girls

This morning, we were supposed to go see a ballet performance at Wolf Trap, but it was canceled on account of rain. So instead, we took the girls to see Kit Kittredge: An American Girl Movie. This was the first movie the girls have sat through all the way since the first movie they ever saw, Flushed Away. In between, there were very short-lived attempts to see other movies, such as Bee Movie, Enchanted, Horton Hears a Who, Charlotte’s Web, and Happy Feet, all of which we had to leave early from. Today was a success, though. While I am not sure they understood the movie, they said they liked it. M said she liked "when the Daddy came back." A liked when the kids were hiding from the bad guys. They also liked the dog and the monkey. M liked the part where the magician’s assistant was floating.

Emily is babysitting tonight!

Today, I am wearing longish shorts, and M said, "Your legs look like a grandpa’s legs." Ugh.

M really wants to push some buttons on the computer:

I was on the road yesterday and didn’t get to post. It was ice cream sundae day at camp. M had: chocolate ice cream with whipped creams, sprinkles and choclate sace. A had vanilla ice cream with sprinkles.

More tomorrow.

How nice that M and A enjoyed this movie. The ice cream sundaes must have been yummy. Before you know it, M and A will want computers of their own. They may even write me a letter. Great blog.
Love,
Aunt Ann
