Thursday In Abstentia

I am in Montana. By all accounts, the girls had a good day today. A had her first Notebusters session after school, and they sang "Carry on My Wayward Son" and "Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow" (which A liked better). They also had ballet tonight, the first class with their regular teacher. M said she is very nice and "also a bit beautiful".

Daddy is doing a great job of holding down the fort.

Montana is very pretty. I spent most of today in the house with Amy. We've just been hanging out. She took a few naps, and during one of them I went for a run along some trails in the mountains. I planned to run for 7 miles but ended up running for 8 - the surroundings were gorgeous and it was cloudy and a little bit rainy – perfect running weather.

Amy is getting lots of flowers and food dropped off, so I don't need to cook – just reheat. 🙂

She is doing well so far. Lots of pain and discomfort but the pain meds are helping. She went for a walk today for a block, so that's good.

Oh, I forgot to mention that Emily came over on Monday night to say goodbye – she is going off to college on Sunday. We will miss her! She helped the girls with homework and let A braid her hair.

OK, time to go through the day's work email. Missing the girls but happy to be here. Special thanks to A for sending me to Montana with two stuffed animals to remember her – Clarabelle and Brown Bear. They made the trip just fine and are in my bed here.

Here is a picture of a deer in Amy's front yard.
