Trip Update #1: Amsterdam

Here is update #1 from our trip.

We had an easy flight and travel to Amsterdam. The flight was pretty empty so we could all stretch out, our bags made it, we made it, the weather was fine and we are all feeling ok. We were very tired yesterday, particularly M and me because we didn't sleep on the flight over. But we powered through and today was better (except for M who was up half the night last night with jet lag).

We LOVE Amsterdam.

We've been walking everywhere, enjoying the beautiful canals and charming streets. Everything here is cute – the people, the dogs, the apartments when we could glance in, the little cars, the boats. It's an amazing place to visit.

What have we done so far? Anne Frank house, Van Gogh museum, walks to and from various neighborhoods, yummy breakfast, Indonesian dinner, residential restaurant dinner, some souvenir shopping, a nap today, some games of chess in the lobby, a flea market. It has been very pleasant and easy so far.

Tomorrow we say goodbye to the Netherlands and head to Bayeux. It will be a long drive. Hopefully the weather will improve; it was rainy and chilly today.

We packed lightly (for us) and that has helped.
