Update from Lake Chelan

It’s Thursday – it has been a long time since I posted. A lot of my daily routines have gone out the window this week – I haven’t worn a watch or used my hairdryer since last Saturday. We’ve had a lot of fun here with everyone. The weather has been beautiful except for yesterday, which was cloudy. The surroundings are gorgeous – the topography of Lake Tahoe with the climate of Napa. Hot, dry days with strong sun, and cool evenings. The lake is deep and blue and cold and the mountains are tall and dramatic.

The girls have done lots of fun things since we got here (since I last posted):

  • swimming in the lake
  • their first putt-putt game (M did great; A got frustrated and then recovered)
  • been to a great water park with long slides (which M LOVED)
  • made a birthday cake for Daddy
  • swimming in the pool with the new Doodles
  • gone raspberry picking
  • spent lots of time with Olivia and Ben, Deb and Jonathan, Grandma and Grandpa, and Darrah and Jason
  • had Mexican food and barbecue at restaurants
  • played lots of games of animal bingo (which we inherited from Sarah and Rachel)
  • played paddle ball on the beach
  • played CandyLand with Grandma
  • new jigsaw puzzles
  • played basketball
  • watched Mommy and Daddy and Darrah and Grandpa on the jetski

M & A have slept well and taken good naps – I guess we’ve tired them out! A hasn’t worn a pull-up at night in weeks and she hasn’t had an accident in a long time. We’re very proud of her.

We left our camera battery at home so we’ll have to rely on other people’s photos.

Tomorrow we are going back to Seattle, and on Saturday we go back to Washington DC (also known as "Washington Monument"). The girls have been delights. We’re so lucky.

It’s good to read that you are enjoying Washington State and all it has to offer. It’s beautiful country. M and A sound like they really are having fun with everything and everyone. You lucky people!
