We arrived here at the Homestead yesterday after an easy drive through the rolling hills of central Virginia. We got here around 4PM, and it was very windy and chilly. We explored the grounds a little, including the outdoor pool and mini golf place. We haven't used either one of them yet. We also walked to the little "town", which is very little. We had dinner in the sports bar area, so M and I got to watch baseball. The girls ordered some HUGE chocolatey desserts.

Today I had a lovely facial and Daddy took the kids to the indoor pool. They played there for 2 hours. Another girl from Deal was there, and N grew attached to a 6 year-old he met who is friends with the girl from Deal. After lunch, Daddy and M and A went for an hourlong horseback ride and N took a snooze back here at the hotel. We had dinner tonight at a French restaurant in the town – Les Cochons d'Or – and everyone except N found something yummy to eat. N ate 2 pieces of bread. 🙁

Tomorrow Daddy is having a massage in the morning and I am taking the girls for a long hike in the afternoon. I can't wait. Not sure if they are excited about it or not. We may play putt putt too. The weather here was better today but still a little chilly. Tomorrow maybe we will brave the outdoor pool. 

It is relaxing here and nice to be out of our regular routine. The kids like to explore the hotel and see what's around.
