Veterans Day

Today was Veterans Day and I had to go to work. Daddy stayed home with all three kids. He did a great job! He took them to the National Gallery of Art in the afternoon, in part to see the Roy Lichtenstein retrospective. I think they all had a great time. Maybe Daddy will send me some bullet points that I can include in a post. N was very cooperative and smiley, although apparently at one point in a quiet gallery he tested out his vocal chords a little. 🙂 I know Daddy had a lot of fun hanging out with the girls today and they had a lot of fun with him. I wish I could have joined them!

Today N took a 3 1/2 hour nap – from 10:30-1. Amazing. He is so smiley (except for when Daddy was trying to get him to smile in a series of photos).

It's always nice to hear wonderful things about your kids on email. I got this today from M's baseball coach: "It
was a joy to have Maddie on the team – as we’ve discussed, she’s got
skills…I really hope she sticks with it!   And she is such a great,
positive, sweet kid.  It was fun to get to know her not just as your
daughter!"

And then I saw this post in our neighborhood listserv: "Many thanks to all the families who donated their Halloween candy to
Treats for Our Troops. More candy was collected than in previous years.
It was a great community response. Special thanks to the kids who gave
up their treats and to Maddie for her colorful note, it was thoughtful
for you to give to the troops who serve to protect us." Awwww.

Tomorrow I will be volunteering in A's art class at 9AM. Looking forward to it!

Here are some pictures that a mom from ballet sent me from the observation day on Saturday.
