Vietnam I

Quick post as it is really late here.

We all reunited in Vietnam late last night. A and I had uneventful but long flights to Seoul and then to Hanoi, and then came to the hotel. Daddy and M and N had a good day walking around Hanoi Saturday. It was VERY chaotic here because Vietnam was playing in a big soccer game that day and people were celebrating outside for hours.

Today we went to the Hanoi Hilton (prison) and to the Museum of Women. Then in the afternoon, the kids and I basically retraced Daddy and M and N's steps from yesterday – we went to the lake, the Metropol hotel, a gallery with cool art, and the old city's closed off market streets. Then we went to a large market that was billed as non0touristy and which basically had a lot of cheap stuff. N bought everyone in his class a keychain with a colorful cone shaped hat on it.

Tonight we went to see The Nutcracker at the nearby Opera House. We had expected something a little more professional, but this one was sweet and also (unintentionally) entertaining. I think they put the soundtrack on shuffle bc the music was all out of order.

We ate all three meals at the hotel today bc they were free! We mooched off of Daddy's board meeting. All yummy. Lots of options at every meal.

Will post pics tomorrow – too tired – but it's fun and interesting and full of energy here. The kids are doing great.

Here is the BIGGEST news from the last 24 hours:

Went to Vietnam last month…what an amazing country and fantastic experience for the kids. Hopefully you venture out to try the food- it was my favorite. Nothing like fresh spring rolls for breakfast!
