Visiting N at Camp

We went to see N at camp over the weekend, which was great!

He is having a really good time. He spent a lot of the first session out on trips (canoeing in Boundary Waters and hiking on Isle Royale) and loved the trips, and is now excited to spend the second half mostly at camp. He wants to do more sailing, pickleball, tennis, MOCA, and just hanging out at camp. He looks great too! He’s probably grown another inch since we saw him.

We got to camp around 8:30 on Sunday AM. We hung around camp for about an hour, saw a few people as well as N’s cabin, and went to the the rec hall to see N’s and Dad’s names on various plaques.

Then we left and headed to Minneapolis for the Twins game. It was great having long rides to and from Minneapolis so that we could talk a lot. The game was fun – very hot but we were in the shade. We ate a lot of local delicacies (?) and enjoyed being in a new stadium.

We drove back to Duluth after the game, walked around the canal area for a little while, walked to the lake, had sushi dinner and ice cream dessert, and then headed back to our hotel where N slept on a comfy bed and had a nice long shower in a clean bathroom.

Yesterday we got up and went to our favorite brunch place, the Duluth Grill, which did not disappoint.

Then we dropped him off at a national park about 30 minutes away, where the 8-week boys were hanging out for changeover day. We said goodbye – me for a month and Dad for 3 weeks because he’s heading back there for a board meeting at the end of the month.

We miss you N!! See you in a month!
