Weekend Status Part 2

Wow. This was quite a weekend, and today feels like one of the longest days I can remember. I left the house at 6:15 AM to go to meet Grampy, VERY narrowly missing hitting a deer on 32nd St. in our neighborhood. That would have made the day a very different one. We went to the race and both ran the whole thing. It was my best ten-miler time ever, probably thanks to boot camp. Beautiful day for a race. Unfortunately, it was terribly organized at the end and it took us almost 40 minutes to walk back to the metro stop. Nightmare – after a long race too. Bleh.

We made it home and I went to get the girls from Nutcracker rehearsal. Made it home in time to see N before his nap. Then they went to a birthday party at Charlotte's. Bouncing and crafts and balloons – looked like a really fun party. Then it was off to M's baseball game. Yes, game. She was supposed to have practice and instead it was a late game. It didn't even start til 4:45, and didn't end til almost 7. Poor M got injured in the last play of the game – she was tagged out after trying to steal home, and she hurt her leg. Poor pup. She has been icing it but it still hurts a lot.

Here is a sweet note I got from her coach tonight:

Thanks so much for emailing. Karen says maybe some Advil will help the inflammation (better than Tylenol). Maybe ice it a little.

Hoping it'll be okay. She's so tough. She really leaves it all on the field. Maddie's certainly developing some great baseball skills, but it's a bit like casting pearls before swine.

Talk to you tomorrow.

Daddy had to work tonight, a bummer on a Sunday night. He's home now and we are watching TAR. The little boy is asleep. M is recovering. We did Hebrew School homework and tomororw's a day off due to conferences. So it was a good day, but a very long one, and I am excited to go to bed.
