OK, lots of things to catch up on, as promised.
M's soccer game. She did GREAT! She saved so many goals. She let one easy one through – which she's upset about – but she blocked like 12 shots. She was fantastic! The coach said at the end of the game, to the other players, "You know who you should be thanking? You should thank Maddie. Because she saved your butt." He was right. The score was 1-0 but it could have been so much worse. Now the team should focus on offense. 🙂 The coach – who is not a pushover – put his arm around M after the game and said, "I love you."
N's soccer game. N had his first practice with the Bears. I think he liked it. He did a lot of running around. Not sure he's really understanding the game yet, but I am not sure most of the Bears understand the game yet.
The Nats game. Oh my god. We went to see the game yesterday, and at the end, when the Nats had won (3-2), the magic number was down to 1. So we waited at the stadium and watched the end of the Marlins -Braves game, which took another 90 minutes to conclude because their game was in extra innings. After much back and forth, the Braves pulled it out! Walkoff HR, 10-8. That meant that the Nats clinched the NL east. We were among about 2000 (?) fans who stuck around, and we were rewarded. The Nats came out on the field, with their families, and they threw all kinds of swag at us. Shirts, hats, socks, wristbands, cups, slap bracelets, and more. It was really fun and so great to be part of their celebration. #GoNats!
A resumed tennis lessons, and she's now going to take a group lesson on Sundays too with 2 friends.
The girls also went to Harper's BM over the weekend and had a sleepover here with Abby and Ellie, N went to Sebastian's birthday, and I went to a karaoke party on H Street.
Lots going on!
Poor N is under the weather. We're hoping he gets 100% better soon. He DID start ST math tonight and he LOVED it.
