“Wheel of Fortune”

We like to watch "Wheel of Fortune" when I get home from work. First, M has to comment on how beautiful Vanna's dress is. Then the girls like to choose who they want to win. Then they like to see if I can solve the puzzles before the contestants do. Tonight, we "played" "Wheel of Fortune" after the show ended. Here's how it went down:

A (in the role of Vanna): "Your turn, Mommy!"

Mommy: "Ok. Are there any Ts?"

A: "Yes, there is one." (Note: she doesn't have actual words in mind, nor can she spell.)

M: "Is there an M?"

A: "No."

Mommy: "Are there any Ls?"

A: "Yes, there are 3."

M: "Are there any Ns?"

A: "No."

Mommy (sensing a pattern): "Are there any Zs?"

A: "Yes, there are 7."

M: "I want to solve the puzzle. It's 'ROUND THE HOUSE'".

A: "No." (Despite me mouthing "Say yes!" at A behind M's back.)

Mommy: "Is there an F?"

A: "Yes, there are 20."

M: "Mommy, try to solve the puzzle."

A: "I will give you a hint, it starts with 'Round'".

Mommy: "Round and round the mulberry bush, the monkey chased the weasel."

A: "No. It's not a song."

M: "It's ROUND THE HOUSE."

A: "No."

Mommy: "Honey, I have no idea what it is."

A whispering, "It's ROUND THE HOUSE."

Mommy: "Um, is it ROUND THE HOUSE?"

A: "Mommy wins!"

Why M didn't have a fit at this travesty of justice is beyond me.

It’s so lovely that mommy plays games with M and A. I love hearing about what you and the girls do together. The girls are so lucky to have such a patient and loving mommy.
Love,
Aunt Ann
