So. Many. Updates.

Oh boy. It has been a while since I posted. And so much has happened.

Let’s talk about the kids!

Nate

Nate’s life has been school, baseball and Survivor. His Storm Chasers team is doing pretty well – I think they are in second place, and N’s bat has heated up this spring, which has been fun. We’ve been having a lot of fun making fun of his loudmouth coach and dissecting the games afterwards. He has had several night games at Cabin John under the lights, which is also fun. And long. He won a necklace one night, which is given to a player who has had an outstanding performance that evening.

We also went to our first Nats game of the season. Despite N getting a foul ball, a tee shirt from the tee short toss, and whatever he wanted to eat, it was a bad game because we lost in extra innings. Most the game was fun tho.

The Nats have been wildly inconsistent which has made it hard to get excited about them.

Other things N has done:

  • Grandparents Day (both Grandma Sandy and Grampy commented on how good the class was and on his smart comments)
  • STEAM Day (we saw a pic in the Hopper Happenings today, see below)
  • Enjoyed some bike rides around the ‘hood on his new bike (BM present from Grandma Sandy)
  • Lots of homework, especially math
  • A panel on the first amendment which he went to at GDS with Dad
  • Eaten a lot of sweets

Here is N with H one warm night recently.

Oh, and he is now officially the second tallest person in the family, at 5’5″ and 116 pounds. He’s 60th percentile for both height and weight. He grew three inches in the last year.

Alexa

Alexa is in the home stretch of her college career, which makes her very sad. She told me yesterday that she loves learning and is very sad to be leaving college (though she won’t miss the tests). She’s also sad to leave a school that she has loved so much. We learned tonight that she won a $2,000 award from the School of Dramatic Arts, which she will receive next week. We are so proud of her!

She ALSO got a manager, which is a huge deal. She is now repped by an agency called Kreative and will hopefully get sent on lots of auditions. Still working on a job, which is stressful. She doesn’t have to move out of her house til the end of July, so that takes some pressure off of graduation. We are all going out to LA, along with Grandma Dina and Grandpa Ron, in 2 weeks, for USC Graduation.

She is in the midst of lots of finals now, including lots of acting and some technical exams like lighting.

She has sent us some fun pics from very crowded senior parties:

And one of her drinking her favorite drink, a Hugo Spritz:

Maddie

Maddie has had a very intense stretch of work at school, with several long papers due in a short amount of time. She also hasn’t been feeling great. Yesterday she cranked out a 20 page paper in one day, which I will never understand how she did. She has spent a lot of time in the library, and sends us entertaining time lapse videos of her studying and sometimes falling asleep. In two weeks, she will fly to LA for graduation and then come back to DC with us, and then will return to Princeton to work at Reunions. And then back to DC for the summer! We can’t wait to have her home this summer.

Here is a pic of M and Jaylee from formals, which she went to and then went to the library afterwards.

She also sent us a video tonight of her as the Rocky Squirrel, which we hadn’t seen in a while. So she must be getting somewhat of a break from studying.

College exams = the worst. I remember. (Law school exams may be worse actually. No one go to law school please.)

Ok more soon, just wanted to get this posted because the days are flying by.
